Business Plan 2008

Endurance Great Britain South and West Wales Group committee members aim to manage the development and implementation of all group activities during 2008. The intention is to achieve the following for its members over the period January 1st to December 31st, 2008.

  • Increase membership of both EGB subscribing and associate members by 10%. The Group will advertise and promote the Associate Membership scheme and provide enrolment forms and membership cards for new members. Nominate a specific Committee member to hold strategic responsibility for registering new Associate Members.
  • Organize and support the minimum of at least three new rides. This will include at least two Pleasure Rides and one Competitive Ride.
  • Organize and support the minimum of at least three Social evenings. Venues for these social evenings to be equally distributed throughout the South & West Wales Group area.

  • Focus on the promotion and development of Public Relations including:

    • promote the South and West Wales Group within other equestrian organizations and disciplines.

  • produce four seasonal South and West Wales group newsletters during the year, meeting deadlines for production of the newsletter to coincide with activities and events.

  • seek sponsorship from local business.

  • seek raffle prizes to support fund raising activities in aid of Wales Air Ambulance., the member's elected charity.

  • Maintain an up- to- date database of publications in the S&WW group area.

  • produce articles for publication in these publications and local press.

  • Promote the activities of the group using the group poster.

  •   Hold regular/bi-monthly committee meetings. 

  •     Liase with other "local" EGB groups to nurture healthy competition, and to encourage the development of activities and events which will be to the benefit of all EGB members and Associate members.

  •   Produce minutes of all committee meetings, making      them available to all members.

  •   Encourage member’s attendance and input via the discussion forum at committee meetings.

  •   Hold a group Annual General Meeting ensuring all members are notified in advance of date, time and venue for this meeting.

  •   Representation of  EGB South & West Wales Group at the EGB group and ride organisers meetings.

  •   Evaluate the work of the committee including:

  • produce and collate a 6 monthly members survey, information from this survey will be used to inform future activities and events.

  • to enhance the group web site, seek members views for content and the ongoing development.

  •   Maintain the ‘Buddy’ system.

  •   Ongoing development and production of the Starter pack, forwarding this to all new EGB and Associate members.

  •   Inter-regional Challenge Wales - Select teams for the nominated rides to enable participation, liasing with host group.

  •   Support fund raising activities specifically for EGB South & West Wales group.

  • Support fund raising for Wales Air Ambulance.

  • Support the Pony Club in encouraging its members to participate in EGB activities.

  •   Provide to EGB and members accounts to the end of the financial year 2008.

  •   Promote the 2008 awards ceremony of EGB South & West Wales Group, encouraging members to contend for these trophies by ensuring they are aware of the comprehensive trophies list and criteria for awards, and providing them with record cards.
